Does anyone know what advantages, besides being quieter, the Fluid Dynamic Bearing Maxtor D740X drives have over conventional Ball-bearing drives?

Like I said, obviously they're quieter, but do they improve stability or reliability, or extend the lifespan of the drive itself? Do they run cooler? Anyone know?

Thanx,

- skubik.

I have actually only heard that it helps with noise. Check out this site and see what it has to say about them :::
