Pre-Built VS Self-Built

I want to buy a desktop computer for gaming in the $700 range. Would i get more bang for my buck with a prebuilt (ibuypower bestbuy whatever) or a home built one. I would rather build my own but I am a little concerned about screwing it up.

Definately more if you build it yourself, plus you will be able to say that you have. Thats worth all the money in the world. Not really, but its still cool.
