Ok, I have always said that Creative cards are big no-nos, but that was because I had a less than great experience with the SoundBlaster Live!. Now before you tell me anything about the Audigy, did you actually try it? Has anyone tried the Audigy card and its drivers with a VIA chipset, for example? I really need to know because I'm starting to consider the SoundBlaster Audigy Platinum for an upgrade myself.

I build a computer for my sister. I uses the Asus A7V133 did not have any problem with Audigy. Her computer only have a NIC and Audigy on the PCI bus.

I think a lot of people have the same idea as you. They don't want to risk the Audigy because of the issues they had with the LIVE. There seem to be less reports of the popping/crackling issue on many of the forums. But that could just be because the card hasn't benn out long enough for any real problems to become evident.
