Mouse keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

I am having quite a few problems with the pc i have built

1. Windows 8 icons won't launch
2. The mouse keeps disconnecting and reconnecting intermittently (making the disconnect sound)
3. The sound cuts off during game play and won't come back on until a restart

Spec;

Amd FX 6200 six core processor

16.0 GB Ram

Windows 8 pro 64 bit

Seagate 1TB Barracuda Internal Hard Drive

Asus GT 640 2GB DDR3 VGA DVI-D HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card

I've been having the same mouse disconnect problem as you. I've done everything I can think of (including posting here on these forums but didn't get an answer) and it still happens. I assume it has to do with a recent Windows update because that is when I started noticing it.

Do you have daemon tools installed?

I don't have it installed currently.

I assume you tried a different mouse? I had a lag problem with a logitech mouse, I went out and bought a Microsoft mouse and that fixed my issue.

The only other mouse I have is a PS/2 mouse and doesn't help me narrow down the issue. I assume my issue is driver related considering my mouse works fine most of the time. I keep getting a "bugcode_usb_driver" blue screen and I've reinstalled all USB port drivers as well as my mouse/keyboard drivers and I still have the problem. I've read this might be linked to RAM or mobo failure but I haven't seen any evidence of that yet.
