I need help, asap

Hello,
well i bought a powersupply and a gpu. I opened my current computer up and took out my current powersupply. I installed my gpu in my case and i went o turn everything on. nothing happens. my computer turns on but my screen doesnt show anything. when i installed my new powersupply I noticed there was not a four pin plug but there was on my old power supply, and it was plugged into my motherboard beside my cpu. I can answer more questions, im frusterated and scared. if anyone could help me please. or attempt at finding out whats wrong.

Please list the brand of the new Psu, and its wattage so we can look it up.
Also if you can please provide the model no of the motherboard, and the vendor of it.
It would help a lot and there may be a work around to your current problem ok.
