Would a OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W be enough for:

1 x SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 XT with Boost
1 x Seagate ST1000DM003
1 x Corsair 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit
1 x Intel® Core™ i5-3570K
1 x ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Performance

Possibly adding a ssd in the future.
And an external usb dvd-rw on rare occasions.

If not any suggestions on what psu to get, preferably modular and cheap ;)

Yes but OCZ MOdXStream Pro 500w is not really a good PSU.

Get a Seasonic modular like M12II 520w or a PC Power and Cooling Mk III 500w. Change your motherboard though. You can easily get away with an Asrock z77 Extreme3 or Pro3(if you don't plan on CrossFire).
