Hey all,
I have a core i7 950 with a dead mobo. (It fried because the sata data connection guide pin sheared off and caused a short.) Anyway my questions is it worth it to continue to use my i7-950. I have 16GB of 1066 ram and a 650 watt Corsair PS the only things I would need to get are the MB the Video Card (old one was a Radeon HD6770 that has since found a new home), and a new HDD.

Motherboard: $85.00

HDD: $56.00

Video Card: $219.00

So I can get my system back up and running for ~$300 dollars.

New system cost ~$1100

Figured this would keep me going till the new chipset hit.

Thoughts.
