Hello,
I have an HP laptop, forgot the series but a its a some what newer model (windows 7, intel core i3, etc...). my issue is, the laptop initially had windows 7 installed, then i forgot my password so i reformated it and installed ubuntu on it. it was working fine for a few months, but now it wont boot all the way. it loads partially, ubuntu logo pops up but then goes blank after that. Now, i got a windows 7 CD/DVD from one of my friends and i am now trying to re-install windows on my laptop. i tried booting from the CD but for some reason it wouldn't let me. i even tried re-installing Ubuntu (which is on a USB) but it wouldn't let me do that either. im not sure if the laptop needs to be "reflowed" or not. any advise?

Hmm, trying to think what you could try have you gone into the BIOS and changed the boot priority maybe by doing that it will force the windows install disc to go through.
