Hi guys, I wanted some advice for my future setup. Here are my System Specs

Asus P8Z77-V Pro
Intel i5 2500k @4.2 Ghz 1.25v
4Gb DDR3 1600 Wintec Ram
XFX ATI Radeon 5870 1GB
1TB WD HDD Green
128GB SSD Crucial M4
LG DVD Drive
XFX Core Edition PRO550W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] =xfx%20550

I was thinking of either selling my 5870 for about $125 dollars after shipping and fees and upgrading to a MSI Hawk 7870 $240 after rebate or buying another xfx 5870 and crossfiring under $100. I've seen some benchmarks and it seems my 550w should suffice.

I'll be using molex adapters for the card. One benefit that I will get with the 7870 is a silent cooler and a better crossfire in the future.

I know that 5870 1GB is very small vram for crossfire but I game on a 24 inch 1080p monitor; from what I've seen I should expect 50% gains with another 5870.

Thanks in advance and please give me some insight.

I would definitely go with the 7870. You have the ability to crossfire in the future, plus, you would be putting less strain on your power supply and less heat into your case. Not to mention the fact that 7870's gave some impressive performance.
