would this do?

You could get a better system than that for the same budget or a little more. The problem with pre built systems is that they use proprietary form factors that make upgrading difficult and in some cases near impossible.

Here's what I would suggest:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus - €79.95
PSU: Corsair CX600 V2 - €69.95
Motherboard: Asrock H77 Pro 4 / MVP - €83.95
CPU: 3.4GHz Intel Core i7-3770 - €274.95
RAM: Corsair 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 XMS, 16384 MB, DDR3, 1333 MHz, 1.5 V - €82.95
SSD: 128GB OCZ Vector Series (optional) - €139.95
HD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda ST 7200 RPM - €72.95
Optical: LG DVD Burner - €24.95
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon Flex HD 7770 GHz Edition - €122.95

Total: €952.55
