Hello everyone. I was wondering if my CPU would bottleneck if i bought an Nvidia Geforce GTX 650. My CPU specs are as follows:

Processor: Intel Core 2 duo E6750 @ 2.66 GHZ.

RAM: 4 GB

PSU: 650w.

P.S : I am looking for a quick reply. :D :)

Most likely , my friend still runs an Intel Core 2 Duo and a 8800 GTX in SLI and he run's games at 1920x1080 at 60fps+.

It should be fine

I think people now adays worry about CPU bottle neck way too much however if the game is CPU bound (as some games are) then it wouldn't matter what GPU you buy. That being said a GPU will normally be the most bang for your Buck when trying to improve graphics.

I saw your thread and everyone seems to think your CPU will bottleneck with those graphics cards. I am getting very confused as I have seen some people running high-end games like Battlefield 3 and Nfs The Run on an Ati Radeon HD 6790 Or Nvidia Geforce GTX 55ti on an Intel Core 2 Duo without any problem or bottleneck. So is there anyone who can clear my confusion.

P.S: Please Excuse me if my English is bad as it is not my mother language.

I am rocking an e6750 too, and it isn't the component that's holding performance back at the moment. Rather get the HD7770 it's the same price as the GTX650 and it outperforms it in pretty much every benchmark.

Thanks for the reply. What if I get an AMD Radeon hd 6790. Will the AMD Radeon hd 6790 be ok for my processor and will it be OK to play high-end games on low-medium settings like Battlefield 3 and Need For Speed Most Wanted ( The new one ) on stable fps on an AMD Radeon HD 6790.
