Video card help for relative newbie

Hi , just bought a new computer and im hoping to upgrade the video cardright now it has a radeon 7350 in it and im hoping to put something in it that will be able to play most current games on medium to high settings for under 200$ I will be playing at 1920x1080 and mostly play league of legends , starcraft 2 but i want to be able to run more graphics intensive games
The computer has an i5 2320 , 8 gm ram and the only issue is that it has only a 300 watt power supply. Any advice on if a psu replacement and a new vid card is required or if there is a vid card that can work with this psu , would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few HD 7850 2GB for about $175 after rebate on Newegg. Or you can spend a bit more for these two to hit your budget limit.

XFX Core Edition FX-787A-CNFC Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB ($200 after rebate)

    ZOTAC ZT-60901-10M GeForce GTX 660 2GB ($195 after rebate)

You'll need a new PSU. Here's a good one for $40 after promo code and rebate:

    XFX Core Edition PRO550W

  3. Unless you upgrade the power supply, the best graphics card you can hope for is the Radeon HD 7750. Pretty impressive performance for a graphic card that can work with a 300w PSU, but it will not live up to your expectations.
  4. If your PSU budget is separate from your GPU budget, then go for either the HD 7870 or GTX 660.
  5. no they arent separate , im looking to spend around 200 all for psu and gpu or just gpue that can work with surrent system
  6. because a psu will be about 80-100 what vidcard would be reccomended for under or around 100, could go to 150 if the performance is much greater
  7. The PSU doesn't need to be $80-100. The one I listed for $40 is fine for all the cards above (HD 7850, HD 7870, GTX 660) with plenty to spare. You can get the HD 7850 1GB for $150. I'd recommend going with 2GB though. But if your budget is really limited, it might have to do.
  8. I have another option for you. You can go with this PSU instead and it will power the HD 7850 2GB for $195 total after rebates.

CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 ($20 after rebate)

  9. thanks a bunch , really appreciate it :) might try my hand at a boxing day psu and vidcard etc but appreciate all the reccomendations
