So, i'm new... very new
And I think i'm almost about ready to commit to building a pc.

Ive previously bought prebuilt so things worked out of the box. But i'm really liking the idea of being able to say I built it up! and the whole learning process

I have been reading and reading reviews on products, and compatibility and think I have made up an alright pc
It will be used for general use, a bit of designing and some gaming.

So I wanted to put it past the more experienced out there and let me know if they see any major flaws?
Im slightly confused on what PSU I should be looking at but have linked a 600watt that I thought would be suitable.

Also
1)I may in the future overclock but i might also not
should I get hold of a aftermarket cooler just to be covered either way do you think?

So here are the links to the parts. It is a UK site

That's a solid build however I would recommend going with a Hyper212 Cpu Cooler. I believe that is the hyper 212 with a generic name, this site is a little odd. I would recommend windows 7 as 8 brings nothing to the table unless you have a touch-screen. As far as performance goes, you'll definitely be pleased. That system will play any game max settings with proper overclock ie. take cpu to at least 4000mhz(I would try for 4500) and overclock the video cards core first, followed by memory, to the max frequency that still maintains game stability. If I was to have that hardware the fps potential for all the games I play would be a solid 60.

League of Legends

Civilization

Skyrim with 4k texture mods

Starcraft 2

Planet Side 2 big battle

windows 7, I don't get windows 8 unless you have a touchscreen.

You'v made good part choices, its just small little optimizations I would make.

Lower profile RAM, so it wont conflict with large aftermarket coolers.
Also blue RAM on a black mobo, eww :p
Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz CL9 1.5v. £40
http://www.ebuyer.com/274035-corsair-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-l...

Cheaper and just as good HDD.
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM. £50
http://www.ebuyer.com/319639-seagate-1tb-barracuda-inte...

I would normally recommend a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO for an entry level cooler, but it seems that website doesnt have it...
Im actually stumped, dont know any other good entry level coolers  .

I would lean toward Windows 8, it allows more than 16GB of RAM on the non-Professional version, and being new will be supported for longer. If the Metro Interface (not allowed to call it that anymore :p ) Start Screen and lack of a Start Menu in desktop mode is the main reason against getting it, that can be fixed now.

That isnt a 212 EVO, not enough heat pipes and the fan looks too small (80mm vs 120mm).

cheers manofchalk...
haha blue on black..... that didnt even register ill look into the other low profile i did actually select that hdd so ill go back to tht.
and will keep an eye out for this 212evo elsewhere, it doesnt have to be that site but i was trying to get as much from one place as possible

There you go. Might want to see if parts are cheaper @ amazon after shipping. Also agree with the Seagate HDD, don't ever buy black western digitals or really anything that's really marketed up is usually not worth it. GL on you're build.
