+1 to the 7950... fx-6100 is not made for gaming but it will do. If you have not already bought the 6100 then get an i3 instead

It depends... if you are strictly gaming, then no, games that will use more then dual cores are few and far between, and with intels architecture they will run a bit better, the only reason an amd would be better is that you cannot overclock i3s by much, if you are doing things like video editing an fx series cpu may be the better option

Well, i already have FX-6100, so i dont want to buy new processor.
So will be 7950 with FX-6100 run BF3 on ultra at least 50FPS while recording ?.
I bought 6 core processor cause i wanted good performance with recording :)

Yes the six core will provide you with a better recording experience, as would adding a ssd to your system, my question though, is what editing program(s) are you going to use?

7950 is your best choice.And that 6100 is a nice proc. you will like it. You will get good frame rates out of everything with that card. You might want to go with an after market cooler though and overclock your 6100 up to like 4.2 or maybe a touch higher if you can keep it stable. I recommend

That is by far the best bang for the buck cooler on the market. It outperforms some 100 dollar coolers. GL and have fun!

Alright, good, i love using vegas as an editing program, and from my experiences it will benefit more from a heavily overclocked cpu then from an nvidia card, so i would still go with the fx-6100 and a 7950 :)

how wrong you are, an i3 is faster then just about any am3 chip out there in gaming, and with less cores!

@OP:

the fx have weak individual cores, having 6 of them will matter very little. It will make a fine gaming cpu. Overclock that thing to high hell!

Shoot look at the 2nd rig in my sig, I run an oc'ed 955be and a gtx 460

So is Sapphire HD 7950 Dual-X 3GB GDDR5 ( HD7950 11196-01-40G ) good/best choice ?

A 7950 would completly rape the 550ti, the 500ti was always a under performer, and sling two mid-low end cards is never a good idea, will give you tons of headaches, 2x 550 tis give around the performance of a gtx 570, and the 7950 even rapes the gtx 580, (as the 580 is a last generation card) not that the gtx 580 isn't a decent performer still, and is still a viable buying option. but two rules are always to buy in generation, and never sli/cf two low end cards thinking you will get a high end experience, the 7950..or a gtx 580, or even if you can afford to throw like 30-40-50 more dollars at it, the gtx 670 is a better option.

Another note, if you can wait out a bit longer to make your buying decision, the radeon 8xxx series is about to be announced....so enuf.

not the sexiest looking card in the world, but well give you amazing performance, i think i'm going to pick 1 or 2 up :)

also, according to the checkout you get the 2 games free, of course, but it says galaxy will be shipping a $20 prepaid card, along with the $20 rebate? not sure if they're the same thing or if it's really like 279.99 lol...realistically 179.99 if you where going to buy the games anyway lol :)
