USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:Gaming, Photoshop, Video

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: ATI Radeon HD 5750 and Antec Neo 500watt PS

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Phenom II X6 1090T at stock 3.2, 8gb ddr3 memory

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050

STORAGE: 500GB WD Caviar Black - 7200rpm

MOTHERBOARD: M4A89GTD PRO USB3

Looking to get best performance boost for the money. I also need to buy a new CPU cooler, as mine is an old stock cooler, and tends to overheat.

Get cooler master evo 212 and overclock cpu. If this fits

Get a uiup gpu. I don't think its worth more than that in my opinion. Your ram is goood

Possible need psu... not sure on mobile can't check

id suggest getting an 7870 over the 660 or the 660ti.

why do you say that? just curious :) .

from what i've read, the 660/660ti would fair slightly better with his lower resolution. not that i'm opposed to a 7870, it's a good choice too, very value-oriented, especially with the free games.

7870 is about same as a 660 ti and cheaper.

i personally dont like nvidia, but i think tomshardware is non biased.

edit..

with amds latest drivers that came out month ago i think pushed them ahead for now.

idk, the article says the 7870 is "kissing the heels of the 660ti." but with the price difference and game promos, and the fact that real world differences are more or less negligible between the two, i don't think you could go wrong either way.

at the same time.. the last 2 driver updates gave problems to Radeon users. I have problems and there are many other threads on same subject
