hey guy,
i am in the market for a new monitor and i want to go for something special of the spec that i have mentioned of 27inch 2560 x 1440, the only thing i mainly spend my time doing on the pc is gaming, but still enjoy a nice picture. there are 3 monitors that i have got my eyes on being Asus PB278Q
Dell U2713HM and the Dell U2711.

my spec of my computer isnt the best:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Quad-Core Processor - 3.20 GHz
SAPPHIRE HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 Dirt3 Edition
Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance

so first of all the main question is will these spec's be able to handle running games such as starcraft 2, modern warfare 3 and battlefield 3 on a monitor like this?

and secondly what monitor should i choose, ive looked into them all and cant really tell whats best to go for as people on them all are either really for or really against each of them and i don't have any shops around to be able to go see them for my self.

please help

thanks

Lloyd

Thanks for the quick response, just one question what is it about the Asus that you prefer?

I doubt your system will be able to run at that resolution with any details turned up. You're looking at over a million more pixels at that res over 1080p and most top notch systems start to choke on new games like BF3 with everything cranked and your parts are a bit old compared to today's parts.

Well that could well be true but seeing as someone believes my sysem cant handle 27 i think 30 is well out of reach.....

Your GPU will handle CoD at that resolution just fine. BF3 will be a bit harder.

If your a little more daring there are some great deals to be had on Korean Catleap monitors on Ebay. I purchased one about four months ago and its been very good so far.
