I have lines going vertical on my main screen how do i get them off ?

it is a lot to take apart to get to the graphics card i have a HP Pavilion ZV5000 please tell me if it can be replace or if i can take it out an put it back in to see if that will work?

The graphics chip on that laptop (and most other laptops, for that matter) is built into the motherboard, and is not replaceable.
However, if your problem is the graphics chip, try plugging a monitor into the VGA port. A failing graphics chip will have the same lines appear on the external monitor.
