Benchmarks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CCbM/benchmarks/

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter) need only this cpu for gaming, the 3770k will not get you any further
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg) great cooler, if you wish i would rather go for h100
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Microcenter)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($49.99 @ Newegg) need 8gb for todays gaming, if you wish go for 16, your choice.

Case: Antec Twelve Hundred V3 ATX Full Tower Case ($159.99 @ Amazon) Cooler master cases are also great
Power Supply: Corsair Professional Gold 750W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($127.49 @ Amazon) more than enough power
Total: $1313.45

if you still wish to spend more money, do 2x670 SLI set up and bump the PSU to 850watt.

pesonally i got corsair dominator platinum 2x8gb, but it was really expensive, i got it for about 130$ w/ free shipping though cuz futureshop F****ed up so they gave me an extra discount
