I am building my first workstation for 3d animation. I am dropping a pretty penny on it and I want to keep it extra cool. I am also going to overclock the CPU and GPU/GPUs eventually. The advantages to water cooling are obvious. I was just wondering if a reservoir with a uv cathode is for looks or for biocide. And if it is, is it enough or do I need some more out in the case?

You are looking at the T-Virus resses I assume?
I run two on my Rig and depend on them and a killcoil for anti-algae measures,
no problems in about 18 months use
and my loop is rather large so yes, I'd say the UV in the cathodes is sufficient to kill any gloopies that may otherwise develop
