Hello

I'll be building a new computer once I've bought all the parts i need. I've never built a computer from scratch, I have however changed a lot of hardware. Before buying the parts, I just want to make sure if all the components are compatible with each other. This is my shopping list so far:

Intel Core i7 3930K 3.2Ghz
Asrock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard
GeForce GTX 670
Corsair Vengeance - 2x8GB DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 CL10
Seasonic SS-750HT 80+ Silver 750W (PSU)
Samsung 840 Series MZ-7TD120 120GB (SSD)
Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB
Zalman Z11 Plus (Case)

It'll cost around 2000$ in total. I want to make sure that they're compatible with each other, and if I need anything essential for the computer to work. I purposely chose not to have a DVD drive, as I know that I'll never be using it, and I can install windows using a USB drive.

Thank you in advance.

They are not compatible

Your processor is a socket 2011 cpu , and your motherboard a socket 1155 .
Socket 2011 is a premium business class , but is mostly out performed by socket 1155 at this time .

For gaming replace your processor with a i5 3570K
for gaming and encoding , graphics work use a i7 3770k

Unless you plan on using two graphics cards yu would also be fine with a 550 watt power supply
And a gmaer wont benefit from more than 2 x54 gig of RAM

Thank you for your response. I have updated the list:

Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5Ghz
Asrock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard
GeForce GTX 670
Corsair Vengeance - 2x8GB DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 CL10
Seasonic SS-750HT 80+ Silver 750W (PSU)
Samsung 840 Series MZ-7TD120 120GB (SSD)
Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB
Zalman Z11 Plus (Case)

The only thing I've changed is the CPU. The computer will mostly be used for gaming, it will however also be used for compiling and encoding as well as running multiple large programs. I am wondering if I need any cables, for example to plug the SSD Disk to the motherboad, or is that included? Also do I have to separately buy a fan for the CPU or is that included as well? My last question is if everything would fit in the case.

Thanks a lot!

Motherboards ship with all the SATA cables you will need .

I have just noticed a detail of your RAM . The CL10 timing is higher than ideal .
Most midrange RAM is 9-9-9-24

and higher quality sticks have LOWER timings which can help speed up applications [ though not usually games ]
You must use RAM rated for 1.5 volts or less

Thanks once again. I have updated the list, this time i've changed the RAM only.

Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5Ghz
Asrock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard
GeForce GTX 670
Kingston HyperX blu - 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 CL9
Seasonic SS-750HT 80+ Silver 750W (PSU)
Samsung 840 Series MZ-7TD120 120GB (SSD)
Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB
Zalman Z11 Plus (Case)

So is everything optimal and compatible?

Thanks a lot!
