I have a ATI TV Wonder and SB Audigy with SPDIF out to my dolby digital decoder.. if I plug a Xbox or PS2 into the composite in on the Tv Wonder (I have the stereo version) would it play the surround sound thru the sound system?

Does the tv wonder only play stereo when you are using the tv tuner? Does it pass the AC3 data thru to the soundcard?

no but you can have a dolby surround emulation generate by your audigy.

1)
yes because the dolby surround is a 4 channels sound encoded in the 2 stereo channels & the audigy can process it

2) yes, the tv tuner can't "create" an Dolby Digital AC3 sound. (& an analogic device can't pass an digital signal)

if you know you don't know, the way could be more easy.

As labdog said, it depends completely on your soundcard. The tv-wonder itself does not process the sound, but passes it on to your soundcard with the included pass-through cable. Since the Audigy does do Dolby Digital you are in luck.

My speakers have a dolby digital and prologic decoder also so i dont use the audigy. but will the pass thru cable and tv wonder pass on AC3 data? i know it will do prologic because its encoded in 'tricks'.
