How to run dual monitors on a Asus M2N-SLI

I am running a AMD64 Dual core on a M2N-SLI main board with 2X Nvidia G-force 8500GT graphic cards. I've recently installed Windows 7 64bit and I am attempting to run dual monitors, but haven't had any luck getting it to work. I've tried using both a standard VGA splitter on one card as well as running a separate VGA cord to my second monitor. Neither approach has worked. And despite trying to troubleshoot via my Nvidia control panel I cannot get my PC to recognize a second monitor.

Can anyone help me figure out how to make this work?

Hook up 1 monitor with DVI and the other with VGA. You can't use splitters. Go to the nVidia control panel and tell it to use 2 monitors.

Both outputs are VGA. Will it work if I use a VGA to DVI adapter?

which 8500gt do you have that doesn't have a dvi port on it? I thought they all did ...

Also, are your cards in SLI ?

I have 2 8500GT 512mb cards. I will double check the outputs again just in case. And yes I am running with my SLI enabled.

All the ones I see have DVI and VGA.

So I checked and both graphic card do have DVI and VGA outputs.
