Speakers for Compaq Presario (Windows 8) aren't working.

Hello:
I am having problems with my speakers for my Compaq Presario. The device manager says the speakers are "functioning properly", and I have turned the volume up, but still no sound. Can someone please help me?

Do you still have your problem?

I have similar. Speakers will work for a few hours then stop, The PC then says no sound installed. Than have to reboot and re set-up only for it to repeat later. This only happened after installation of Windows 8

problem with driver. Try to find latest driver. Give me full model name of laptop
