I want to put together a cheap gaming computer for my brother to be able to play games like counter strike source and left for dead. He already has a monitor and is on a budget of no more than 500. Any suggestions?

Probably the i3-3220 but that will add an extra $40 to the build. The Celeron 555 is actually a step down.

Yeah, I wanted to get it under $500 before rebates. I totally agree with your build, g-unit1111, but it is like $590 before rebates.
