$600-$700 budget gaming pc

So I'm looking to maximize my performance, while still staying around the sub $700 mark.

A few things to note before I share what I have so far:
I don't have a brand preference as long as I'm getting the biggest bang for my buck.
This is going to be primarily a gaming rig at 1080p, but will also be used for schoolwork and programming
I'm including the price of a case and operating system as well. You don't have to if you suggest a build but I need to keep in mind that I'm on a budget, and will need to purchase an operating system and case for the PC.

And now what I've got so far:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black 3.4GHz Quad-Core ($94.99 at Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Just the stock heat sink so far. Suggestions welcome!
Motherboard: This is another interesting one. If anyone knows of any cheap, but solid motherboards let me know! Going to need PCI slot that's compatible with a Video Card. I currently have a Gigabyte Ga-990FXA-UD3 but its $132.98, which might be too expensive.
Memory: Kingston Predator Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($44.99 at Newegg)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.98 at Outlet PC)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB ($230.66 at Newegg) *Note: Really impressed with these Radeon GPU's performance per dollar ratio
Case: Still need one! Probably has to be a cheap case, but preferably a decent looking one too
Power Supply: Logisys 480W ATX12V ($13.98 at Outlet PC) *Really cheap, but if it gets the job done it's good enough
Optical Drive: Samsugn SH-224BB DVD/CD Writer ($15.98 at Outlet PC) *Not going to use it much, so I got the cheapest one I could find
OS: Windows 8 OEM 64-bit ($89.98 at Outlet PC)

TOTAL SO FAR: $683.54

Yes, I'm trying to go really cheap on some components here, and if you see something wrong feel free to point it out. I'm just looking to squeeze out as much performance as possible from my limited budget.
