Computer turns off after connecting dvd

hey guys,, I just built a pc,, and the problem is it turns off as soon as it reads a dvd or the dvd drive starts running,, i checked unpluggin the hdd and kept it on for lyk 1 hour without pluggin into dvd drive,, swapped its power connectors(dvd drives) but same problem,,, gotta help me out guys as I'm nt able to install my operating system,,, checked the temperature in bios and its not going more than 37 degrees... 1s the os installation using dvd drive went all the way till drive partition and when copying files from disc to harddrive it turned off... happens when power is connected to dvd drive,,
here is system config: psu = vs550 corsair 550watts
samsung harddisk
amd fx 6100
cm tx3 evo (processor fan)
1tb wd blue harddrive
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2PT Motherboard
