If my computer is connecting to my network but then my network is not connecting

i have a compaq so its pretty much an HP and i have widows vista on it and i just got wireless internet in my house and my computer will connect to the router but then it wont connect to the internet... if i plug my computer into the router directly with my ethernet cable then it works.... how do i fix this
