Use driversweeper or simular software to remove all your current gpu drivers. Power down, unplug the power, remove the current gpu and install the new one. Reconnect power and boot back up. It should default to Microsoft vga or svga drivers but you will have a usable image on your screen. At this point download and install the most recent drivers for your card.
