>>SKIP THIS BIG PARAGRAPH IF YOU WANT<<

Hi, im trying to make my own pc for the first time. I started off wanting a gaming pc because i wanted to play some of my favorite console games with mods, games like gta 4, l4d2, skyrim, and also mmo's. Before i decided to make my own pc i was gonna get an alienware x51, since i didnt know anything about computers and all i knew is what i read on their site. I thought why not, 740 dollars for a pc that can run skyrim on low thats all i want. After a while thought i started to want more, and whenever you look up alienware there's always people preaching about how much more you can have for that price. I decided to look for myself, and i found out that yes, yes you can but i guess you all know that lol. I got excited and was starting to look up what the parts on the AWx51 cost. Then i looked up parts that were high end. I spent days watching videos of people building computers from picking parts to installing the os and drivers. After getting a little more confident i decided i was gonna finally start, so i went to pick out parts. I went through alot of builds aiming towards one similar to the alienwares cost, im only 17 and my job doesnt really give me enough money to buy a pc more than 800 without not having money for clothes and gas. I decided anything under between 700-800 and im set.

I came up with some builds i wanted, found nice prices, but in the end it became obvious i wasnt gonna get the best thing i could for 800 because of one thing. That OS.. Windows 7 Full costs 164, so no matter what i end up at over my budget without getting what i want completely. I finally gave in, i found a nice video series by a youtuber named duncan33303 that gave a decent build for 600. Adding taxes and the OS that came to 806 for me. I know sounds like perfect, exactly what i wanted right.

But i decided to edit it a little because ->i would rather upgrade a gpu later than a cpu since im new to this i dont want to fondle with the cpu and its socket more than i have to after reading all those horror stories on newegg<- . Thats all i changed though.

NOW FINALLY. SORRY, ACTUAL REASON FOR POSTING THIS NOT MY LIFES STORY IS-

Are these parts ok?

Intel Core i5-3470 Processor

EVGA Geforce GTX650 ti

Asus P8-H77-I Motherboard

8GB Ram

Bitfenix Prodigy Case

500W Corsair CX500 Power Supply

Random DVD burner and reader.

The reason im buying win 7 full is because i read in a few places that with an eom or builders liscence if you change your motherboard you have to buy another key.

So if you guys think this is ok for now, i can change the gpu later when i have more money. What im trying to achieve with this is play atleast skyrim with decent fps around 40+ and at a decent ress, i never played anything besides consoles so i can appreciate any kind of decent quality in my games. The reason i didnt choose and i3 processor to bring my cost down is because i looked at some system req's for an upcoming game i want to play and microcenter has i5's at $150 so i decided might as well.

If there's just no way this can get 40 plus fps on skyrim at a high-ish setting, then i might buy an i3 instead. I didnt include a cpu cooler because im not overclocking, but might i still need one? Other than that i could ask my dad to buy windows for me as a favor.

I didnt include an HDD or SSD because a friend of mine gave me 2 250 gb caviar blue drives, i was wondering if i could actually use those. One of them has Win 7 pro, and the other one has Windows XP. they're both pretty new and i know they work just wondering if i can format it and put Win 7 Premium on an HDD with windows 7 all ready on it.

Thanks anyone who can help me with my noob questions! Before this week all i could recognize in a computer was the ram, so sorry if i sound like i dont know anything its because i dont. And the overkill with detail, bad grammar, and unnecessary info like this my bad also lol, thanks again.

your spending money on the build in the wrong place..buying parts that are ok for word prossing but not a gaming system.

69.00 the ps is over sized right now for a 560ti or 7770 video card but gived you room if you go up to a larger video card or sli. the price for this ps is the same as the 650 so it a no brainer to get the bigger ps for the same funds.

99.00 for windows 8.
the z77 mb is there as it almost full size mb and has pci slots for wifi card if you need one. most pci wifi 20.00 for good cards.
or if you want to toss in an after market asus sound card. there are some h77 mini mb that are less money then the msi mb but with the z77 you can if you get more cash drop in an unlocked cpu.
