Hey everyone,

I was curious what everyone thought about the new hardware coming out?
Such as new Intel CPU(s), DDR4 RAM, and new Motherboard(s) that can handle DDR4.

Would it be worth holding off to put such into a build or would putting together a build in these next few months with whats current be fine?

-

My current budget is $2500 - $3000

I was considering the Intel 3970K, but not sure if I should hold off now?
I'm also planning to get 32GB of DDR3... But should I hold of for DDR4?

-

So far what I'm planning on is...

Intel i7 3970K

CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Water Cooler

Motherboard (still figuring out)

32GB DDR3 (still figuring out the kind/brand)

Storage
- 2 SSD in RAID 0
- 4 HDD in RAID 10
- ? ??? for scratch/cache(?)

Video Card (still figuring out)

Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply (still figuring out)

Windows 7 64bit ultimate

Sound Card (Undecided)

2 Dell S2440L C9VNT-IPS-LED 24-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor

-

The computer will be used for photo, video, design, and music editing while multi tasking from time to time.

Oops! My bad, I just realized I posted the wrong CPU! I meant to say the 3930K. Thanks you, haha!

I have a vague knowledge of computers since it's something I'm getting into, but iGPU I'm guessing is integrated graphics? My apologies if I'm incorrect.

So I'm guessing it's safe to build something with in the next few months with whats out now?
