Can i fit a pci-e 3.0 in a 2.0 x16 slot ?

I am thinking about buying a new graphics card (ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX650 1GB 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card).......................................

But i have 2.0 x16 slot not 3.0...will it work in my pc....here are my full specs

Intel Core i3 540 @3.07GHZ

ASUS P7H55-M LX

4 x 2 Corsair Vengance Ram ddr3

Cooler Master GX 550W Bronze

Yes 3.0 is backwards compatible.

i guess if you want to play a powerful game such as crysis 3 you gonna need a powerful GPU such as 7950 2gb and 660ti and above

but hd 7770 is on the minimum section and 8 gb ram is in the high and my processor in the recomended

If you put a card capable of pcie 3.0 in a 2.0 slot. It will run on pcie 2.0 and the difference in performance will be negligible.

in my opinion i would go with the 6870 HD its better and it capable with pci 2.0 if you are so worried about the PCI system and i guess its going well on the 1080p if thats your resolution

the 6870 HD memory interface is 256 otherwise the 650 is 128 that means the 6870 is faster
