After Effects Computing Power

Hello,

I currently have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro.

2.4Ghz i5, 8GB RAM, GT330M 256MB.

Needless to say, it takes about an hour to process about 5mins worth of animated content in After Effects.

I want a new custom PC build that will absolutely shred those render times into oblivion.

What GPU/CPU specs should I be paying attention to?

Is there an upcoming tech rollout that will happen in the next 2-3 months? and should I just wait for that to happen first? (I heard theres some new intel chip class coming out thats better than Ivy, etc)

Thanks

Well, you could do a workstation build sure, or yo could get a powerful gaming rig (cheaper) that performs well too. What would your budget be for something like this?

I want to say I would nudge towards something that can function as a gaming rig as well,

max budget, 1400. I would prefer to stick with intel/nvidia combo.

Looking to cram it all into a small form factor case.

I think I will go with this motherboard(?) ASUS Rampage IV Gene LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX

any reason not to as far as its tech goes?
