I'm sure this topic has been discussed before......but please tell me the combination I should use to connect HD, DVD-ROM and CD-Burner to 2 IDE ports.
Devices are
HD is 20G 7200rpm Maxtor
CD-R/W is 40x10x24 Ricoh
DVD is 16x pioneer

Any advantage of connecting DVD and CD burner to the same IDE cable????

Thanking you all in advance.

HDD = Master on Primary IDE Channel
CD-RW = Master on Secondary IDE Channel
DVD = Slave on Secondary IDE Channel

I would recommend that configuation if you do a lot of HDD to CDRW writing. However, if you do a lot of on-the-fly disc-to-disc copying, I recommend switching that DVD ROM onto the Primary Slave.
