Too much force to secure CPU?

I just installed my intel G860 cpu into a asrock micro atx board, and the lever that secures the cpu down took quite a bit of force to push all the way. Is that normal? I double and triple checked the alignment of the cpu with its place on the board before securing it, and the notches lined up fine. Now I'm just freaked out that i destroyed my cpu or something. How much force is generally needed for that lever? Should I be afraid?

It takes a bit of force, yes, but it shouldn't require that much. It needs force to make sure the cpu is secure and won't move about.
