Im looking at gtx 680's for my build .. I finally found one that looked good and had favorable feed back .. The only problem ( maybe ) is that its an oc version http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... .. So my question is .... whats the downside to these .. eventually I will watercool the card .. is it considered a reference card ? can it be manually oc'd ? etc . all thotts appreciated

More about : factory video card

Reference cards are pretty much the standard version of the video card model. What you have is not a reference card because it has been altered by Gigabyte with an overclock and aftermarket cooler.

There is no downside in my opinion since you get a faster card and perhaps with a better cooling solution.

Now I have never overclocked a video card but with that card, I assume you can (not entirely sure) but it does look like it.
