Hello. I have an ECS G31T-M7 motherboard. It has an Intel GMA 3100 chipset. The chip set says that it's maximum is 256mb. However if I go to BIOS settings and use maximum VRAM it increases to 384mb. I did this to see if I could get more FPS in League of Legends. It wasn't enough for optimal gameplay.

Are there any graphics card that are below $40 dollars that are made for gaming? if not, can you get me the best $40 bucks graphics card available, even if it's not for gaming?

Also, my PSU doesn't have a 6 pin cable.

Help and thank you.

At $40 the only option is the AMD HD 6450. It can play most games at lower settings. It will run LoL on low-med settings with aa off.
To give a bit of an example an intel g31 with the GMA graphics would get a 3dmark06 score of around 300. The same motherboard and cpu will get a 3dmark 06 score of around 6,000. Thats a huge improvment. Another good thing about the 6450 is it comes in low pro and it only uses about 20 watts of electricity so it will work in any computer with any PSU.

Buy 41express chipset mobo(1gb graphics card), support upto quad core processor ,ddr 3 ram. etc...
Upgrading gpu in 31/33 express chipset mobo is waste of money and time because the mobo is always slow.
do u spend $50 to get extra 2fps in games think before buy.
use old processor ,hdd ,dvd drive, cabinet ,smps in new mobo.
but it support ddr3 ram so buy x1 2gb ddr3ram.
if u have money after some months upgrade processor to core2quad and x1 2gb ddr3ram.
