850 Budget Gaming PC

This is what I came up with, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/EdWP .

I'm going to use this for recording Minecraft and Call of Duty. Going to play BF3, FC3 and possibly Borderlands.

Any other suggestions?

  1. I also have another hard drive with me to record with.
  2. The psu ? there's no psu, unless you already got one.
I'd get the 7870 tahiti le, which is better than the standard 7870.
If you have already a psu : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Ee4d
The 7870 le is out of stock for now, but it will be back soon, it's actually 208.8$ with promo code.
  3. Forgot about the psu :P

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Ee67

Dropped the extra hard drive. it was going over budget.
  4. That's a good psu, like i said i rather get the 7870 tahiti le, it's cheaper and better.

This, if you are getting the 7870, make sure it is the Tahiti based 7870.

  6. I can't decide which card.
  7. There's nothing wrong, but it's a standard 7870, i'd get the 7870 tahiti le which is basically a 7930, it has more shaders and it's a better card for about the same price.
The powercolor 7870 myst is at 208.80$ after promo code
  8. Take a look at this http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/tahiti-le-7870-7930-benchmark,3401-5.html

Look for PowerColor 7870 MYST, that's a 7870 Tahiti LE
  9. Link me to that powercolor, I need to see that.
  10. Also, will this stuff OC well on the mobo?
  11. It's here : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131484&Tpk=7870%20le
    + 13% off w/ promo code PWCHD7850, ends 2/22
Yes, you have a good motherboard and a good cooler for mild overclocking.
  12. It's out of stock :L
  13. It's out of stock :L
  14. Yes, but it will be back soon, can't you wait ?
  15. PSU: This or this

GPU: This Same as the powercolor one they're pushing, but a better company, has dual fans instead of single, slightly more expensive but comes with two games.
  16. Do you know when they're restocking?
  17. The Sapphire one is IN stock :D
  18. The xfx 550 core edition is a fine psu, it's a seasonic oem psu.
Well, if you can't wait then get the 7870XT from sapphire.
If you need to shave some, get the psu here : http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=59615&promoid=1257
    Ram : http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=74758&promoid=1321
Change the psu for the hyper 212 plus.
This might allow you to get the sapphire 7870XT.
But i rather wait for the powercolor for the price, it will be back soon.
Check the auto notify and it will alert you when it's back.
  19. Yes, it's good, if you can't wait for the powercolor, get the sapphire.
You can check the auto notify if you're not buying it now.
  20. Buying this by Friday, so I don't mind throwing in the extra before rebates.

Remember that you can get the xfx psu on ncix us, in amazon is out of stock, you can get the ram there for 1.5$ less, and with the psu it will be more than 100$, so you'll get free shipping, ncix us is a reliable website for parts.
You might just look for the powercolor till then, the promo ends on Friday and it will probably be on stock in just two days, and save more than 40$.

Depends on how you look at it. If he likes the games that come with the Sapphire, it's a far better deal. Better company, dual fan, two games. If he doesn't like the games, he can likely sell the slip for $40 to make up the difference. I, personally, feel the sapphire is the better buy.
  24. The powercolor has the same games.
It's a good card, in my opinion, the better buy is the powecolor, since it's more than 50$ cheaper(without rebates in mind) you have to pay 260$ for the sapphire, the powercolor is 208.8$ after promo code.
    http://www.tomshardware.com/news/razer-blackwidow-logitech-g9x-powercolor-hd7870-pcs-myst-newegg,21101.html
Good review of the powercolor : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/tahiti-le-7870-7930-benchmark,3401-7.html
    It offers the same warranty.
  25. For $35, I'd buy the sapphire. Just me I guess. The extra fan alone (considering the card runs hot) is worth the cost. That, and the sapphire is in stock. So each to their own. Might be worth it to the OP waiting a week to save $35 (if it comes back in stock), wouldn't be for me, because I would pay more for the sapphire. You know what they say about opinions.
  26. Yes, the sapphire is also a good card, but the powercolor doesn't run that hot : http://media.bestofmicro.com/C/I/371106/original/GPGPUTemp.png
    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/tahiti-le-7870-7930-benchmark,3401-6.html
It's just because it's at 208.80$ after promo code(not the rebate), if it were at 239.99$ as before, it's worth the extra for the sapphire, but with the promo code, i'd get the powercolor for 208.8$, it's 51.2$ more the sapphire, you have to pay 260$ upfront.
  27. 1000w cougar cmx for $100 ends today at newegg. :( recomend the tx750w or antech high end gamer 900w

c70/haf 932- get nice case so you can use it for other builds

just get courgar/ nauctua fans, your ears will thank you (unless wearing headset)

thermaltake a80 liquild cpu cooler looks like good option, still $40 @ newegg

i3 3220 w/ motherboard is Really cheap ~130 for the processor and -$40 off if you buy a motherboard with it

choose a grafics card that you can afford. either 660 ti/ 7850/7870/7950 will work fine.

keep in mind that youll want a 27-23" 1080p monitor $130-200 and a keyboard (I have the LITE-ON SK-1788/BS and it works fine $8)

just look at other forms like this/ search: $800 build

    $500/$800 build

    Good luck and have Fun!
  28. yeah i think the 7870 LE is good bang for $

    http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/video-card/#c=124
  29. I'm into the bioshock series, so I'm going with the sapphire. Thanks for the support!
  30. The powecolor offers the same games, tomb raider and the bioshock infinite.
Any 7870 either the standard or tahiti le gets the same games in newegg.
Since you have time to buy the parts till friday wait and see, if not get the sapphire.
  31. you could buy a used build for less and get more performance.

look about for deals on newegg. they release deals like every 1-2 weeks on their newsletter, half are fake deals but some are good
  32. Powercooler is definitely a better deal. No rebates and it's the price of a 7850. Of course the Sapphire is a really good deal too. Personally I prefer Sapphire since it's a better brand and dual fans help it cools better, but for the price Powercooler is an amazing deal if you can wait for it to come back in stock.
  33. So that you can future proof yourself, and if you want to crossfire your 7870 LE I would get a quality 750w from one of these:

Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, XFX, Silverstone, Enermax or Antec.

    Tx750 $110
    hx750 $150
antech High current gamer 900w $130

I would also recomend the haf 912, but it might be better to pay up the exstra $ and get the haf 932 because it comes with 200mm fans already, is bigger, and is made for watercooling.
