Nvidia 9500gs the small white plug on the board itself ?

wondering if anyone could tell me what the small white plug is for on the side of the board is used for. This card was in my sons HP when he bought it new in 2008. I recall seeing the card connected to the main board via this plug, it had 1 black wire and 1 white wire. Can somebody shed some light on this for me please.

it's probably for spdif sound. It's so the motherboard can pass audio to the GPU so the GPU can pass it through HDMI.
