Bf3 Lag CPU or GPU?[Screenshots]

Hey guys,

On certain maps on Battlefield 3(mainly 64 player maps with lots of players) I've been experiencing some lag spikes. I enabled the "render.perfoverlayvisible 1" command in the console and I'm not too sure how to interpert it. I have a few screenshots. My main question is, is the lag I'm experiencing GPU or CPU lag? Also I must note that when this lag occurs my CPU ussage is maxed out at 100% and my GPU usage is at 70-80%. Any imput would be greatly apperciated.

  1. You can easily identify the botteneck.See the no. there.CPU is taking significant more time than gpu.Ideal situation is when both cpu and gpu run at same time.

If I where to upgrade to a quad core CPU would my FPS increase and my lag disappear?
  3. It will reduce not go away.AMD cpus are quite outdated. You need to OC it very high.

even good intel cpus can bottleneck high end cards but since you have a mid level card a phenom x4 965 would not bottleneck if moderately overclocked.

Thanks for the reply, I'll look into getting a Phenom x4.
