Epson RX595 sharing windows 7 and xp

Hello,
I have a laptop (Windows XP 32bit) and a new desktop Windows 7). The Epson rx595 is connected to the desktop. A network has been created and I can share files, but the laptop will not recognize the printer. Any suggestions?

Here is a "How To" created by Microsoft. The first thing I would do is run down exactly what they say, that would take the human error out. If the issue still persists it could be a number of other things.
