I just purchased the "Audigy 2 Value," however after looking at the BF2
readme it states it does not support hardware rendering on the Creative
Labs SB Audigy 2 NX or Creative Labs SB Audigy LS - (5.1). I cannot find
any info if it supports the "Value" or not.

I do not want to take it out of the box until I am sure. I think many know
of the fun of returning items to "Worst Return" aka Best Buy

Thanks,

I always get itchy when I buy something new for my PC, so I installed it
anyway. It is only 39.99 after 25 dollar rebate, and it works great. It
allows hardware rendering. I am very pleased.

Thanks for your message, BTW check out this chat transcript of me trying to
get the front mic and head phone jacks to work after installing the new
card. This is HP's wonderful tech support. (after I did not get a real
answer from this girl, I called Creative and they had me straight it 3
minutes, not with 15 minutes of chatting)

I almost said FU, however I decided to be nice so I just said "thank you,
have a nice day."

Welcome to HP total care.My name is Linda. How may I assist you today?

Linda L
Hi Michael, could you please elaborate on the issue?

(my name)
I installed a new sound card to replace the onboard card that came with my
a642n. I need to know how to connect the front speaker and mic connections
to my new card.

(my name)
Was the speakers shipped with the computer?

(my name)
no, i am using a 2.1 system. the front audio jacks are not working now.

(my name)
the front jacks on the tower, not the speakers

Linda L
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&docname=bph07905#N10139
please visit this w eb link a nd follow the steps to connect the
21.speakers.

Linda L
Connecting 2.1 computer speakers , choose this.

(my name)
no, that is not my issue.

Linda L
You mean the front port on the computer are not working?

(my name)
I have the speakers connected. In the back of the computer. I also have
jacks in the front of my computer for headphones/speakers and a mic.

(my name)
yes

Linda L
You need to connect the speakers at the back port and not front port.

(my name)
i would like to use head phones when my wife is sleeping so not to wake her.

(my name)
these ports worked until i installed a new sound card. I had an onboard card
before. there must be a way to connect these front ports to the new sound
card.

Linda L
You need to enable the microphone .

Linda L
Use the following steps to enable the micr ophone in Windows: In Windows XP,
click Start, and then Control Panel. In Windows 98 and Me, click Start,
Settings, and then click Control Panel. In Windows XP, click Sounds, Speech,
and Audio Devices, and then Sounds and Audio Devices. In Windows 98 and Me,
double-click Multimedia or Sounds and multimedia. Click the Audio tab, and
then click the Volume button under Sound Recording. Slide the Mic Balance,
Microphone Balance, or Microphone slider close the top of its range. Select
the checkbox under Microphone if it is not already selected. Close the
volume window and click OK to close the Sounds and Audio Devices window.

Linda L
Let me know the result.

(my name)
The ports are not connected. I cannot use head phones or a mic from the
jacks in the front of the PC. I do not know how to connect these ports to my
new sound card. The last card was integrated not a real card. Therefor the
connection is different.

Linda L
Are you usingklipsch2.1.pdf 1,716 kb?

Michael Aulis
the mic is selected in the sound properties

Michael Aulis
i do not understand the question.

Linda L
What is the type of speakers you are having? You said it is 21.?Who is the
make or manufacturer of those speakers.

(my name)
Creative

Linda L
what is the model number?

(my name)
The speakers are working fine. I have them plugged into the back of the
computer, how ever when I connect head phones now the front port s are not
connected to my new sound card. I need to know how to connect them. Do I
need to remove more then the cover off my tower.

Linda L
Yes, you have to open the tower and then you will see an aux1 plug coming
form the bazil, you need to remove that connector and then connect the aux1
connector form the new card you have installed.

(my name)
what does the aux1 cable look like?

Linda L
It is a small rectangular cable.

(my name)
thank you, have a nice day.

It's not HP's problem. You change the default hardware configuration and
expect HP to provide support for a creative sound card? HP supports their
products and Creative provides support for creative products. What you're
describing is like buying a car and then a year later buying an aftermarket
car stereo and then expecting the car dealership to tell you how to install
it. It's not their problem.

The IQ of this newsgroup has dropped dramatically since the release of
Battlefield 2.

I contacted HP because they could tell me more about their hardware then
Creative could. (from what I believe HP manufactures and supports HP
products, just a guess) I expected the support agent to be able to look up
my system from the model number I gave her and tell me which cables I need
to switch. Creative is not expected to have details on all systems by every
manufacturer. The number of systems would range in the hundreds of
thousands If you wanted to put a stereo in a F-15, would you ask Best Buy
or the Air Force?

BTW, if you read the transcript you would have realized what I was
complaining about. (maybe the fact HP's agent could not get past what kind
of speakers I am using) However, you prefer to just be a troll.

I do not know if you are right about the IQ dropping, it may just be the
maturity....

Maybe if you would have explained the situation better to the tech, she may
have not gotten hung up on the speakers. Tech support deals with idiots such
as yourself every day so they are forced to lower themselves to your level.
What I'm saying is that you were wrong for knocking HP's tech support just
because you weren't smart enough to read the manual and install guide
yourself.

Again, you did not read the transcript. Or it is simply over your head.
Either way you are far to silly to bother with.

BTW, I searched some of your posts in this newsgroup, and it seems 9 times
out of 10 you are calling someone an idiot, or something to the same effect.
Strange pattern. It's been a lot of fun.

Yes I read your so-called transcript and it supports what I've said. And as

Killfile....not even worth 1/4 of an inch on my monitor his rants take up.
I doubt Bob will ever contribute anything useful to Usenet, or in life.

Wanna stop a troll? You can't, all you can do is ignore them.

How am I trolling? Just because I pointed out how stupid you are classifies
