Hello, Toms.

I recently assembled a computer for gaming, but it keeps randomly restarting, randomly freezing, and that such.

I have tried most every solution I have been able to find by Googling, but to no use.

The computer will restart at random, most often four to six minutes after starting, and entering Windows, or it will freeze, or a buzzing sound will emit from the speakers and it freezes at the same time.
I'm unable to play /any/ games; the computer is almost unuseable. I have become so frustrated with this problem.
I was able to play Arma II for five minutes last night, it was amazing, but then it froze, and I was forced to manually force-restart it using the button on the case.
Beforehand, I was unable to enter any games without an instant random restart, but I upped the CPU power slightly, which seemed to help. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or what.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue, a power issue, or what. I was hoping I could find help here as to what may be causing the issue.

I never encounter a blue-screen, or have an error to go with the crash, freeze, or restart. It's really confusing, and really frustrating..

Here are my PC specifications.

Are my voltage settings set correctly? I'm not overclocking, and do not wish to overclock.
I very much appreciate any help that is given. Thank you.

Asus has been absolutely no help to me; the male on the other line mocked my accent, told me it was my fault, and that Asus isn't responsible, when I simply asked to send in the motherboard for a replacement.

To be honest; I don't even know if it's the motherboard. I have had absolutely zero help or guidance, though I have asked, asked, called, sent emails, and everything. Nobody knows what the voltage settings should be, or seem to have an idea, or simply don't care to help.

I believe I have the same issues you have described. My computer will randomly cut out all USB devices and the sound will suddenly garble up...all at the same time. The system does not return to normal and requires a hard reset. So far, I haven't been able to pinpoint commonalities in the conditions at which it will occur. I've replaced my powersupply and upgraded my case thinking perhaps it was a short somewhere. Neither of those replacements made any difference. I've upgraded the bios from 1401 to 1903 (their latest bio for this board as of 09/17/13)....the random system freezes still occur. I'll have to press the power button for it to go the shutdown...but even then, the OS will hang right before fully shutting down. I then have to hold down the power button for 10 sec to do a force power shutdown.

Like I mentioned, the freezes appear to be random. The first time it happened, I was playing Final Fantasy 14 online: A realm reborn. I thought perhaps it was just the game. Then it happened while I was playing World of Warcraft. Then it happened while I was working on a Words document. Then it happened when I was watching porn from Youporn. I've been using this motherboard for 3 weeks now and the random freezes have occurred with nearly every major task I've done with my PC. My system is water-cooled and seldom goes above 55 Celsius under heavy loads. It stays at around 28-30 degrees at idle. So I highly doubt it is a heating issue. I would say it seems to occur roughly 3-4 times a week. So here are my specs:

Mobo: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 w/ bios 1903
CPU: AMDFX 8350 black edition Vishera @ 4.0 Ghz (not overclocked)
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHZ Corsair vengeance
Vid: Gigabyte 660GTX 2GB
HDD: Samsung 840 SSD 250GB
Case: Antec P280
PS: Antec 750W 80 bronze (Model HCG-750M)
OS: Windows 8 64bit

My next troubleshooting step will be to check the RAM timer setting and tinker with that. I'll post a followup to let you know if it works out.

If anyone have any insights towards a solution or have similar problems with their ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 board, I encourage you to post.
