GTX 580 & 2560x1440

Hello,
Wanting to upgrade to a 2560x1440 PLS monitor. Wondering if the ol' GTX 580 will handle that resolution at max setting (no MSAA) with games like Far Cry 3, BF3, Guild Wars 2 etc, or will i need to be upgrading to a 680?
CPU is a i5 2500K @ 4.2 Ghz

I am an NVIDIA fan, but i think the best bang for your buck is going to be a 7970
