What would be a good amp to look for to go with Laserdisc. Maybe one
featuring a demodulator, if there is such a thing. Just would like some
models to keep an eye out for...

More about : good amp laserdisc

I've read good things about the Onkyo TX-DS989/Integra DTR-9.1. Used should
be around $1k. Originally retailed for around $3k. It is loaded with
inputs including an RF demodulator. I'm not too familiar with any of the
Pioneer models.

IMO, the Pioneer Elite series of recievers are ideally suited to laserdisc
players, especially those with AC-3 as the higher end recievers have built
in RF demodulators and analog and digital inputs for DD and DTS surround
sound. I have an older VSX-27TXi (which still works great after 6 years)
along with a newer VSX-59TXi with 2 Pioneer CLD-99 players and they're both
perfect fits.
