Intel Storage Driver or Windows 7 Driver.

I recently installed a WD 500GB Scorpio Black (Sata II).

I am using a Advent 9117, running Windows 7 32-bit. The drives works fine but was just wondering if i need to install the Intel Rapid Storage Manager/ Intel Matrix Storage Manager program and driver. Will i gain any benefits from doing so? Or is the Windows 7 driver currently installed for the hard-drive fine?

I dont use RAID array, but want to use and enable all the features on the harddrive like AHCI etc. Is this already enabled and used with the current Windows 7 driver?

If you are not using RAID, you do not need to install Intel's Rapid Storage Technology. If you are not having problems, the drivers you have are working well. I would leave it alone.
