Doberman is a very fitting analogy. Do you notice the only reason they can
be mean, is that they are so scared and nervous? If you walk by a untrained
Doberman (by untrained I mean as a protective or attack dog) it growls,
however if you get too close it just tucks it's tail and runs away. I
cannot think of a better example to describe our friend.
BTW, if I did not right this follow up sentence his reply would be something
like "the reason you cannot think of a better example is that you are a
retarded retard." After that he would look up various synonyms for
'stupid,' 'dumb,' etc so not to sound like his vocabulary is so limited.
