Hello, i'm not really an expert on graphic cards but i need help on choosing the right one the ones i had in mind was the gtx 680 and the radeon hd 7970 i using one of these cards for single monitor use. i play games like total war, skyrim, battlefield 3, gta iv, l.a noire, sleeping dogs, and batman arkham city. i'm just trying use one of these cards to play the new simcity that coming out and Rome total 2 if they set the Minimum requirements as with they did with shogun 2. thank you so much for helping make the decision

Please list your Full specs.

GTX 680 is a big Overkill for that Resolution. Even a GTX 660 will do it.
I would recommend you a GTX 670. Its cheaper and is almost same in performance.

I'm plan on buying a monitor that support 1920x1800 hopefully that's enough
