I am looking at a few different options and would like input to let me know if my ideas are in the correct range or i have been out of the game to long and dont know what i am talking about.
I was a IT guy for 10+ years but 7 years ago i moved into medical and have not stayed up to date on the details of the equipment available today.
Currently i am using a Y550 by Lenovo and love it ... well other than the over heating issue... that i fixed by cutting the bottom of the laptop off and attaching 4 case fans from a old tower build... they are currently running off of a 500W power supply with the MOBO pins shorted out so i can use it without being plugging into a MOBO this is the reason i am upgrading.
so option 1

Never owned a Sager Product so i know nothing about them. I have and do own a Lenovo and enjoy it... I hear LOTS of good reviews from the lenovo so i am not sure if its worth moving away from them
Also lenovo has some lower end options that are also getting great reviews (the Y400 and Y580 from the lenovo website) Are other options for slightly less money going to give me a large drop in ability ... is the extra $300-$400 worth it REALLY... am i missing some MAJOR players in the game...
You guys know what you are talking about and i would love to hear it ... the advice i get here will directly go into the laptop that i buy in the next few days or so i take what you have to say serious.
