Hi there. over the last 6 months or so I have been gradually building and speccing up my system but I have recently encountered a problem that I hope you guys might have some insight on. I am pretty stumped.
I appear to be having trouble loading folders a lot of the time (the disk drive is the main trouble maker, but I will get to that) when I open a folder, for example, a music album the folder will open straight up but none of the tracks will appear right away. Instead, the location box at the top of the page (Computer > Media (e > Music etc etc) will start doing the loading progress bar (slowly filling up green) and it seem's to take a rather long time to load (times of up to 10 - 20 minutes)
I have tried changing the folder settings to music but to no avail. I have tried re-installing windows but that didn't work. I have run disk checks for bad sectors and system optimizations and still nothing. Tried different copies of windows. Tried virus scanning and nothing has worked so that leaves me with the part I was dreading...hardware issues.
I know it's not due to it being a low spec system or anything like that. My specs are as follows:
Mobo - Asus Sabertooth 990fx
CPU - AMD Bulldozer 8120 8 core
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 8400 x 16gb
GFX - ATI Radeon 6790 1gb gddr5
HDD - Western Digital 2tb (green rated running at 5200rpm)
PSU - Corsair HX 850w
All of this stuff is still under warranty from overclockers.co.uk so of course sending the items back for replacement isn't an issue if it needs to be done, but it's a case of knowing what the trouble maker is.
