But the same idea of the extra grounds holds true for slower
drives for good data transfer.

The whole idea behind the 80wire Ultra cable is to shield data. When the data is transferred faster on the bus it's more prone to bus noise to cause data corruption. Without the use of one your going to be calling the hard drive manufacture because of "bad sectors", when they aren't really true bad sectors.
